Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art provides guided tours, teaching and workshops for both children and adults. Events and education are an integral part of the programme at Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art and is therefore planned parallel with the exhibition programme. In addition to initiatives based in the fixed programme, we offer workshops as well as some of the teaching programmes as permanent courses across the exhibitions. Furthermore, in relation to the exhibition programme, we arrange salons, artist talks, debates and seminars.
The objective of Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art is to be an innovative and process oriented educator of contemporary art. Through the education we intend to establish educational meetings between artists, the art and the audience. One of the ways we will make this happen is by placing the dialogue in a central position and by being open to each individual’s interpretations and approaches to the art, regardless of age and previous knowledge. The aim of Den Frie Centre of Contemporary art is that all visitors will feel welcome and involved – and that each visit will enrich the visitor with new experiences, new ideas and perhaps even new perspectives on the world.
The education addresses all who have an interest in exploring and learning more about contemporary art. Through a wide range of events, Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art provides the visitors with the possibility to learn more about contemporary art and to be involved in the exhibitions and their themes. Education, exchange, reflection and the creative process are the focus which, for both the visitor and Den Frie Centre of Contemporary art, is going to ensure education that is as fruitful as possible.
Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art continually documents and reflects on the learning and knowledge in which we are co-producers. Furthermore Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art is actively devoted to establishing cooperation with new users and visitor groups.
